Mold Headache
Q. A good friend of mine lives in a house that is split into three
apartments and she lives on the ground floor. This house is at least fifty
years old and has a partial basement that has a dirt floor. There is mold
growing in this house. I have seen it growing on the wooden door and base
boards in the living room. The house always has a musty odor which is worse
after it has rained. My friend suffers from severe migraines and has tried
various migraine prescriptions, but none of them work. She has lived here
for 8 years and they keep getting worse. She suffers from memory loss and
her thinking ability has slowed steadily. She is only 36 years old. I think
that the mold could be causing her problems and have told her this but she
still hasn't had it tested. Do you think her migraines and this mold could
be related? It has rained 2days in a row this week and now two days later
she suffered a migraine so bad that the Dr. gave her a shot that knocked her
out. I would appreciate your advice on this matter

The frequent severe headaches [migraine or otherwise] that your
friend is experiencing and the extensive amount of visible mold
are two strong clues that your friend is living inside a
severely mold infested area to the large and possibly permanent
damage to her brain and overall health. Suggest to your friend
that she move immediately to a mold-safe place to live. She
should not move her clothing or personal possessions until they
have been mold decontaminated in accordance with the precise
directions provided in the book

severity of the mold infestation, she can either hire a
Certified Mold Inspector, or use do it yourself mold test kits available from a
large hardware, home improvement, or safety store.. She needs to have her body
tested for internal mold contamination with such tests as mri
brain scan, mri sinus cavity scan [do at the same time as the
brain], chest x-ray, lung biopsy, mold antibody blood testing,
and any other diagnostic tools recommended by her attending
doctors such as a neurologist for brain damage, allergy
specialist for sinus problems, and pulmonary physician [lung
doctor] for lung mold growth.
